This is the website of May / Mei, who are the same person – me!

I'm a comic artist, writer, amateur coder, and spreadsheet enthusiast. I've been posting my art online under the pseudonym Mei since at least 2018 (and under a variety of other pseudonyms since 2008). May Wu is the pseudonym I've chosen to use for my original work moving forward, while Mei remains my handle for fanworks.

Most of my autobiographical work is either silly or reflective, or both! I draw as a way to preserve memories or work through feelings, and it shows. My biggest piece of work is Everywhere A Garden, a graphic memoir I drew about my time at college in the United States as an international student and the identity crisis that came with it. Some other things I've explored include crushes, dating apps, friendship, family, body image, and getting older.

On the fiction side, I like to write stories (whether original or transformative) for my younger self – stories that are niche, geeky, indulgent, cheesy, and even cringey, but always hopeful. I enjoy playing around with things like fandom, growing up, awkwardness, unrealistic premises, romance, change, personal relationships, and self-discovery. I like weird fiction and hope to make weirder stuff as I go along.

The name "floricider" is a combination of flower and cider, two things I like. It could also mean "floricide" AKA the killing of flowers, which is imagery I just find kind of cool. The name "meixins" is from my Chinese name.
